Our Trail Running Clinic is ideal for those who:

  • Want to start trail running, and progress safely

  • Already enjoy the trails, and are looking for a community of like-minded runners

  • Tend to struggle with injuries

  • Want to learn about everything related to trail running

To participate, you must be able to run for 45 minutes without getting injured. You should also be running at least twice per week, and ideally with a few hills.

Trail running involves hills which may sometimes be steep. We strongly suggest registrants have recent experience with hiking prior to the program starting. No need to be fast! This is to ensure that the program will be appropriate for you.

If you’re not there yet, don’t worry! You can still build up gradually until the clinic starts on April 8th, 2026.

FAQ’s

I’m new to trail running, can I still sign up?

As long as you can continually run 45 minutes on the road or on the trail, you can sign up for our program. The running speed doesn’t matter, so our minimal requirement for the program is to be able to run for 45 minutes pain free.

It is important to note that trail running involves hills which may sometimes be steep. We strongly suggest registrants have recent experience with hiking prior to the program starting, as trail running involves hiking up steeper hills.

I only have road running shoes, do I need to buy specific shoes?

Yes, trail running shoes have extra grip and are mandatory for this clinic. Ideally, you will already be adapted to wearing your trail running shoes when you start the clinic (ie. please don’t try a new pair of shoes for the first time during our sessions!) We recommend that if you are going to buy a new pair of shoes, that you gradually accustom to running in them at least 1-2 months before our clinic starts. This is the best way to prevent a shoe-related running injury. If you have questions, we are happy to help with personalized running shoe recommendations through a 1-on-1 physiotherapy appointment.

Can I sign up if I’m injured?

If you are injured or you have a recurrent running injury, we recommend that you book a physiotherapy assessment with our team of running-certified physiotherapists before signing up. We will guide you on a proper rehab program, and will give you a plan to prepare you for our Trail Running Clinic. If you want personalized advice on your running technique, you can also book a treadmill running assessment.

What are the session dates?

Wednesdays: April 8, April 15, April 22, April 29, May 6, May 13, May 20, May 20, May 27, June 3, June 10.

Sundays: April 12, April 19, April 26, May 3, May 10, May 17, May 24, May 31, June 7, June 14.

Sunday sessions will start at 8am, roughly 1-hour duration to start, and progressing to 2 hours by the end of the program. Location varies as we explore different trails around Kelowna.

What if I have to miss a session?

We encourage participants to attend all or as many of the sessions as possible. However, if you need to miss a session or two, you can still follow the training program on your own. If you switched things around a bit, we can provide advice on how to safely and quickly catch you up with the rest of the group.

What is the cancellation policy?

If you decide to cancel within one week after signing up, you will get a full refund less the transaction fees. If you cancel before March 31st, 2026, you will get a 50% refund of your registration fee. If you cancel after March 31st, no refunds will be issued. In both of these cases, you can still access the educational contents and training program to do on your own. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us by email (info@movemed.ca).

If I get injured and can no longer continue the program, can I get a refund?

Unfortunately, we will not be able to reimburse your registration fees, but you have access to all of the educational contents and the pre-made training program, so that you can use them when you recover from your injury. Because our programs are built by physiotherapists with an expertise in running, we think your risk of injury is lower. If you’re starting to feel aches and pains, please reach out to our team so we can act on it quickly!
