Public Lecture: Is Running Really Bad For Your Joints?

Hosted by the KGH Foundation & MoveMed Physiotherapy

When: Thursday, September 17th at 6:00pm

Where: CAC Lecture Theatre at KGH (2312 Pandosy Street, Kelowna, BC)

It is not rare to hear that running is bad for the knees, or for people to quit running by fear of damaging their joints. Especially as they get older, or if they had injuries to their knees, hips, ankles or spine. Does running increase the risk of osteoarthritis or other joint injuries? Will runners with osteoarthritis need a joint replacement sooner because they keep running? What if someone had surgery in the past? Join us to explore what the research says!

The lecture will be presented by our very own Jean-Francois Esculier in collaboration with the KGH Foundation.

General admission to the lecture costs $20. Your donation will support the Wilden Legacy Fund, which aims to strengthen the network of mental health support and services available to young people and their families in the Okanagan Valley and beyond.
